In case you haven’t heard, August 21st is bringing with it the first total solar eclipse to North America and it will truly be the celestial event of the century.
With the path of totality skating by so close to our home in Denver, our team couldn’t resist putting a few different maps together to mark this special occasion.
We overlayed data from a few readily available maps and compiled them on Caltopo for a superb Eclipse Trip Planning tool that shows exactly where you’ll get the best eclipse vantage point.
To use it, just zoom into where you’re thinking about going! The red shaded area represents the zone of totality where the sun will be completely blotted out. Since the Wind River Range is close to home and a prime place to be, we went ahead and added trail data.
If you’re thinking that Jackson, WY looks prime, just remember that everyone else thinks so too. Since the Wind River Range is close to home and a prime place to be, we went ahead and added some popular trail data.
Don’t forget to pack approved eclipse glasses!
