The Trip Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and executing Expedition retreats, wilderness trips, and outdoor ed. trips at the highest level possible. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: permit applications and land use management, equipment management, food preparation, on-going training for guides, client care, and more. A candidate must possess considerable skill in both written and oral communication, organization, time management, scheduling, technical skill and proficiency in multiple outdoor disciplines, and a desire to contribute to an organization that exists to move the needle both personally and professionally.
Expedition Guides serve in teams of two as leaders primarily for Wilderness Adventure Trips. Guides may also be asked to assist with Retreats and Education related adventures. Guide teams are responsible for leading groups of 6-15 clients, on 3-6 day wilderness trips.
Attend Instructor training (TBD)
Attend pre-trip planning meetings and post-trip debriefs with Wilderness Program Director
Manage risk while leading trips (objective and subjective hazards)
Equipment selection and maintenance
Food preparation during trip
Able to engage participants in a manner reflective of Expedition’s core values,
Assist Director of Operations as needed.
